Terms of Use

1. Agreement to these terms

These terms govern your use of SylhetiSpouse, operated by SylhetiSpouse, a trading name of MUK Recruitment Ltd, of 124 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. By registering on the platform you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which governs how we handle your personal data.

2. Eligibility

4. You must be 18 years of age or over. A family member may register on behalf of an applicant but the applicant themselves must be 18 or over.
5. You must be legally free to marry — you are single, divorced, widowed or your previous marriage has been annulled.
6. You must be genuinely seeking a marriage partner.

3. Your account

7. You must verify your email address before accessing the platform.
8. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and must not share your account with anyone else.
9. You must notify us at privacy@sylhetispouse.co.uk if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Your profile

10. All information you submit must be truthful and accurate. You are legally responsible for the accuracy of what you provide.
11. You must keep your profile up to date if your circumstances change.
12. You must not include contact details or links within profile fields other than the designated contact number field.
13. No photographs should be uploaded to any profile field.
14. Profiles are reviewed by an administrator before becoming visible. We may decline any profile without giving reasons.
15. Contact number: male applicants should enter their own number. Female applicants are required to enter the contact number of their Wali (Islamic guardian — father, brother or male guardian). By submitting this field you confirm the number provided is the correct contact. If you choose not to follow this requirement that is your responsibility.

5. Use of the platform

16. Once approved you may browse profiles of the opposite gender and express interest in them.
17. If another member accepts your interest, both contact numbers are shared by email and displayed on the platform. The platform's role ends at that point. We have no involvement in or responsibility for any contact or meeting that takes place after that.
18. You must use any contact details shared through the platform only for respectful matrimonial contact.
19. You must not submit false or misleading information, impersonate anyone, harass or threaten any other member, or share another member's contact details with any third party.

6. Our liability

20. SylhetiSpouse is an introduction platform only. We do not verify the identity of members beyond email verification and profile approval.
21. We are not responsible for the accuracy of information provided by members or for any communications, meetings or outcomes between members after contact details are exchanged.
22. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the platform or from contact with other members.
23. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

7. Termination

24. You may delete your account at any time through the platform or by contacting us at privacy@sylhetispouse.co.uk.
25. We may suspend or remove your account without notice if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms or submitted false information, or if we consider it necessary to protect other members.

8. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes to these terms we will notify you by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that notification means you accept the updated terms.

9. Promotional Free Membership

26. Free Membership was offered as a promotional gesture to individuals who registered, submitted a profile and received administrator approval before 15 July 2026. Profiles that were declined or not approved do not qualify for Free Membership and those individuals are not permitted to access or use the platform. For approved members, Free Membership grants access to the core features of the platform at no charge for the period from the platform launch date of 15 July 2026 until 11:59pm on 14 July 2027, after which a paid subscription will be required to continue using the service.
27. Accounts registered on or after 15 July 2026 will have limited access to the platform at no charge. A paid subscription will be required to access the core features of the platform. We may, entirely at our discretion, choose to offer a short promotional period for new accounts registered on or after this date. Any such offer is not guaranteed, may be withdrawn or ended at any time without notice, and will be communicated to eligible accounts by email or announced on our website. No promotional offer creates any ongoing entitlement or right to continued free access.
28. Free Membership has no cash value, is non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for any monetary compensation or alternative benefit.
29. Free Membership is limited to one per individual and is conditional on continued compliance with these terms. Any breach may result in immediate withdrawal without compensation.
30. Free Members are entitled to access the core features of the platform at no charge during their Free Membership period as defined in this section. However, any additional features or services introduced after the platform launch date of 15 July 2026 may, at our discretion, be made available on a paid basis only. Free Membership does not guarantee access to any features introduced after launch and we reserve the right to determine which features are included within Free Membership at any time.

10. Platform Availability

31. We do not guarantee that the platform will remain operational for any fixed period. We reserve the right to suspend, close or discontinue the platform at any time. In the event of closure, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice where possible.
32. In the event of platform closure, no compensation will be payable to members using the platform on a Free Membership basis, as no fee was charged. Paid members will be entitled to a pro-rata refund for any unused portion of their paid subscription period at the time of closure.

11. Paid Subscriptions

33. Access to the core features of the platform is currently available free of charge to eligible members as outlined in section 9. We reserve the right to introduce paid subscription tiers at any time in the future.
34. Prior to any paid subscription being introduced, we will publish our Membership and Payment Terms on the platform. Those terms will form part of these Terms of Use upon publication and will apply to any member who chooses to purchase a subscription. They will include full details of pricing, billing, cancellation rights and refunds including your statutory rights under applicable UK law.
35. No charges will be applied to your account without your agreement to the Membership and Payment Terms at the time of purchase.
36. When paid subscriptions are introduced, members who do not wish to subscribe will retain limited or no access to the platform, at our discretion.
37. We reserve the right to suspend, remove or permanently ban any member from the platform at any time, at our sole discretion, including Free Members and paid subscribers, if we reasonably believe they have breached these terms, our Community Guidelines or any applicable law. Paid members who are removed for breach of these terms or our Community Guidelines will not be entitled to a refund for any unused portion of their subscription.
38. We will provide a straightforward and accessible method for members to cancel or request a refund within the applicable period through the platform or by contacting us at privacy@sylhetispouse.co.uk.

12. Indemnification

39. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SylhetiSpouse, a trading name of MUK Recruitment Ltd, its directors, employees and agents from any claims, losses, costs or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your breach of these terms, or any contact you initiate with another member.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

40. The platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

14. Prohibited Conduct

41. In addition to clause 19, you must not: use the platform for any commercial purpose; use automated tools or bots to access or scrape the platform; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its systems; or use the platform for any purpose other than genuine matrimonial introductions.

15. Intellectual Property

42. All content on this platform, including its design and text, is owned by or licensed to SylhetiSpouse, a trading name of MUK Recruitment Ltd. The underlying software and technology powering this platform is provided by third party suppliers. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute any part of the platform's content without our prior written consent.

16. General

43. If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
44. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines and, where applicable, the Membership and Payment Terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and SylhetiSpouse, a trading name of MUK Recruitment Ltd, and supersede any prior representations or agreements.
45. We make no representation or guarantee that use of the platform will result in a matrimonial match or any particular outcome.
46. If you believe another member has breached these terms or our Community Guidelines, please report it to privacy@sylhetispouse.co.uk. We will investigate at our discretion but are not obligated to take any particular action.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
